There are two parts to EARTH Iceland: The online education portion—which consists of 12 optional classes which are available to watch June 1, 2022, and the in-person shoots portion—which consists of 9 shoots in 3 different locations in Iceland on July 13-14, 2022. We'll be shooting at a fjord, black sand beach, and lupine field.
The main focus in Iceland will be challenging and empowering artists to take risks and try things you wouldn’t anywhere else. See how you feel about them. Fail at some things, pivot, and learn something new. Then take what you learn into your shoots in the outside world. Do you walk away imitating what everyone else did? Or did you walk away with your own unique approach? In this overly-saturated copycat industry, who are you and what makes you stand out? This workshop is designed to UnEARTH your inner-artist, re-spark your creativity, and get to the root of why you picked up a camera in the first place. There's no better location to rediscover yourself and your art than Iceland!

Education
Since EARTH education is online this year, anyone can have access to amazing courses even if you can't physically attend the Iceland portion. Rather than bringing on other photographers to teach, we’ll learn from different experts outside of the wedding photography community (including a painter, florist, stylist, art teacher, film photographer, fashion photographer, graphic designer, and finance expert).
All classes are set up separately so you can choose which you'd like to access and skip the ones you don't. You can enroll in your courses of choice and read more about what each course entails here.
Some courses will go live closer to July, I'll post updates as we launch them.

FAQ
01. Will lodging, food, and transportation be included?
To help make this event more affordable, all travel and food will be the responsibility of those attending and not all-inclusive. We will provide a Facebook group available to you as soon as you sign up to give you the opportunity to team up with other attendees and split rental cars and Airbnbs. We will also provide an Iceland guide closer to July telling you where to stay, what to expect, and what beautiful locations you can explore along the way in between shoots.
______
02. Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! You can do a payment plan for both the shoots and the online education. See the “cost and payment” plan section for more details.
______
03. If I sign up for one day now but I want to upgrade later, can I?
Absolutely! As long as there are still spots available, you can upgrade anytime.
______
04. If I can no longer come, can I get a refund?
Tickets are nonrefundable, but they are transferable.
______
05. If I can no longer come, can I transfer my ticket?
Yes, absolutely. If you can no longer attend, it will be fully your responsibility to both sell your ticket and handle all financial transactions with whoever takes your spot.
______
06. Why Iceland?
I have been to Iceland 6 times! It’s one of my favorite places. I want to share the magic of this alien planet with everyone. In July the sun only sets for a few hours so we get daylight until midnight, and it’s springtime—which means all the baby foxes are running around and there are fields and fields of purple lupine flowers (which only bloom two months of the year).
______
07. What is the current COVID policy in Iceland?
"All COVID-19 measures at the Icelandic border have now ended. Thereby no COVID-19 prevention measures will be in place at the border, regardless of whether individuals are vaccinated or unvaccinated. Please note that visa requirements have not changed." Source: https://www.covid.is/sub-categories/travel-to-and-within-iceland
______
08. If Iceland closes its borders, what happens?
In the awful event this happens, whether due to a pandemic or natural disaster or something out of our control, we would reschedule the entire event to a new set of dates that would work for the majority of people. Likely in 2023.
______
09. How many people will there be per group?
Likely around 5-10 per group, we will adjust shoot times to be longer the more people we have.
______
10. Which airport should I fly into?
Keflavik (KEF)
______
11. Does Iceland drive on the right or left side of the road?
You drive on the right side of the road in Iceland. The whole of Iceland is a giant circle—driving is very similar to the United States, and honestly simple and more streamlined. There are a lot of roundabouts.
______
12. How much driving will I be doing?
The first location is an hour from Reykjavik, the second two locations are about 3 hours from the first. The black sand beach is only 25 min from the lupine field.
______
13. How many shoots will there be?
Each location will have 3 stations/shoots. So if you sign up for one location, you’ll rotate through 3 shoots. If you sign up for 2 locations, you’ll have 6 shoots. If you sign up for all 3 locations, you’ll have all 9 shoots.
______
14. Do you have any mood boards available? What kinds of shoots are they?
I've posted a few mood boards to my stories. There will be at least one styled elopement a day, and the rest will be a mix of editorial and creative shoots. We promise we’re pulling out all the stops to make this magical!
______
15. Will there be any elopement shoots?
There will be one elopement at every location. So if you attend all 9, you'll have 3 elopement shoots total.
______
16. What if it rains/what if the weather is bad?
My advice? Plan for the worst. Icelandic weather is unpredictable and moody and rainy and great. Sometimes you get sun (in July we have the best chances of good weather), but don’t plan on it! Weatherproof yourself and all your gear, if it rains we will shoot through it. We won’t reschedule or cancel unless for any reason it becomes unsafe to shoot.
______
17. What time will we be shooting?
Iceland is known for its midnight sun in July, so we’ll likely shoot at unconventional times to avoid any crowds. I'll send out an exact schedule as we get closer to the date.
______
18. Is there a Facebook Group?
Yes! You’ll get the link to join when you officially sign up.
______
19. What will I need to pack?
We will send you a packing list a month before you leave. You’ll want all your gear, good weatherproof boots, waterproof jackets for your cameras, a rain jacket, and lots of layers. Sometimes it’s freezing, sometimes it’s warm enough to skip a jacket. Be prepared for anything.
______
20. If I’m from another country that closes borders and I can’t make it to Iceland, what happens?
If this happens, you will not be refunded, but you will be given a voucher in the amount you paid for a future event, or given the option to upgrade your online education and add more classes if you haven’t already done so. If you have enough of a heads up you should try to sell your spot to someone else first and go from there.
______
21. Can I attend the online classes even if I don’t come to the shoots?
Yes, absolutely. Not everyone can travel right now and these classes are a great opportunity to learn from some amazing creatives and artists.
______
22. Can I add on more classes I want to attend later?
Yes! You can add whatever you want at any time.
______
23. Can I get a refund for classes if I change my mind?
No. By signing up for any of the online courses, you’ll sign a contract agreeing that that all purchases are non-refundable or transferable, and that you will not resell any part of these courses for profit.
______
24. How much is each class?
Most classes are $300, a few are less.
______
26. When will the online classes be available?
Some classes will be available May 25, 2022, a few others will launch closer to July.
